As a Latina in IT, diversity is not just some catchy buzzword, it is pivotal to Tomahawk’s mission. Our teams are not only exceptionally knowledgable, but honor our philosophy that diversity makes us stronger. I believe in business various perspectives and experiences improve our vision, understanding and problem solving.

My grandfather immigrated to the USA in 1939. He was a dishwasher and he raised 5 children in East LA. My father has always been a hero to me. He knew an education was his way to the American Dream. As a Navy Veteran with his GI Bill he earned his PhD, becoming a college professor at East LA College. My mother is my other hero, she won the Ernest & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1989. They taught me the importance of hard work, perseverance and giving back to the community. 

Giving back to the community can take many forms. I had the opportunity to work with Dr. April Day of WBEA & WBENC mentoring female entrepreneurs. We also launched our internship program to teach deserving diverse young people our business. We also look forward to working with NMSCD mentorship’s programs.
